Ongoing advisory
An executive sounding board for founders, executives and investors
Some decisions resist a quick answer. A strategy that looks sound until you pressure-test it. A product bet where the case has a hole you can sense but cannot yet name. An investor or board conversation where the story needs to be sharper. A sounding board is a thinking partner for exactly those moments: someone senior, outside your organization, who has sat with these decisions before and will work through them with you.
How it works
Wisdom's advisory is a flat monthly retainer, agreed before work begins. You pay one month at a time and can pause anytime. Bring the questions as they come: pressure-test an idea, untangle a strategy, sharpen the case you need to make. Where AI is useful, we work through which tools fit the job and where human judgment stays in charge.
A month is a sensible unit of work. A relationship lasts longer than a month. Once we have worked together, the relationship exists and can be picked up again whenever the next decision arrives, this quarter or next year. Financially it stays flexible; the understanding carries forward.
Who it serves
Founders weighing a direction, executives preparing to carry a decision into their organization, and investors forming a view on where to commit. The common thread: a decision that matters, where the answer is not obvious, and where an experienced outside mind changes the quality of the thinking.
Where another choice serves you better
Choose an executive coach when the work is the person: leadership style, relationships, blind spots. Choose a fractional executive when you need someone to own a function week after week. Choose a defined engagement when the question needs research, design and a team working together rather than a thinking partner. Advisory fits when you want your own judgment, sharpened.
Advisory in practice
Wisdom's current advisory relationships include the Sing Sing Prison Museum, a multi-year oral-history archive designed with UConn's i3 lab, where the work spans AI design, strategy and the decisions that shape a long-lived institution.
Wisdom is led by Vinay Gupta, who co-founded a peer-to-peer car rental marketplace, led business design at IDEO, and invests his own capital in public equities and private companies from their earliest days to pre-IPO.
